A lot of these girls are smart, classy, and beautiful women. However not everyone fits the DG brand. Most girls try really hard on social media but pretty much look normal in person. Some you won’t even know they’re a DG until they tell you. So that should tell you enough that even in a top house, not everyone fits the image that the house created. If popularity matters so much, join DG. If not, you’d rather join a different house where you can be yourself and receive support from your sisters instead of having to compete with girls you live with. They’re also at least a lot nicer than Theta girls.

Coming from a guy in a mid frat who talked to a girl in the sorority, DGs are best described as the “popular girls” from your high school. Most are from Chicago suburbs and are good looking, smart, rich, and social. They are very friendly and social, but image focused as a generalization. If you seem “cool” they are very nice to you but if you don’t look a certain way they won’t pay attention to you or they will worry about how people perceive it if they talk to you. From what I have seen, they are actually really cool girls but are all being pressured to act a certain way, especially on social media, and care about image more than they actually would if they weren’t a part of the sorority. There doesn’t seem to be a big sisterhood there cause it seems like lots of them joined for reputation or because they knew people in it and then realized they don’t actually care about status. They all are nice to each other but there are definitely more small groups than a general sisterhood cause their “DG” image is so manufactured. Most girls I met in it don’t match the image you would expect and they stay top cause its mostly just really cool girls that know how to look “popular” on social media but are actually better if they just dropped the act.

all the dg girls i know are not just really nice but also super smart. top house and well deserved too, frats and srats like them

Even though this sorority is top, the house doesn't have the best sisterhood. pretty much girls join this house for the popularity, social media image, and top frat relations. kinda bogus tbh. also these girls tend to look down on others. cmon ur personality isnt just ur sorority house reputation... also no diversity and it's sad this is a top house at such a diverse and big community at u of I

they are top tier in terms of looks and popularity. obv hangs with top frats. there is no sisterhood and a lot of girls don't rlly care much about anything but social media or popularity. not academically inclined or that involved on campus. you can tell they are fake and look down on girls from other houses. ladies you are not in high school anymore

OK I don't care about rankings, but I just can not be quiet about this..... Naperville and the Southern Suburbs are NOT prestigious!!! Maybe kind of upper middle class but mostly NOT wealthy. North Shore such as Wilmette Winnetka Kenilworth, and Western burbs such as Hinsdale, Wheaton, or Oak Brook, and NW such as Barrington and Inverness are much more prestigious. Plus most people in Naperville are not from the Chicago area, which is a negative as it is not just about money. South suburbs are not even in the conversation among the elite.

I rushed and pledged DG. From my own personal experience, it was not only disappointing but a total sham in terms of sisterhood and friendship which was a core of their draw, so to speak. In all fairness, maybe it was just my pledge class that had a stick up it’s ass... but in any case, these girls, in my experience, are high school level cliquey, superficial, and all from Naperville. Very social for sure, no one is saying this isn’t a theoretically fun house, the issue is that they haven’t left the high school hierarchy! If you aren’t a legacy or a fake blonde from the Southern Suburbs, good luck. They also don’t seem to have any desire to interact with those who aren’t from their house or a top frat. The relationships built are very surface level and rely on your getting wasted most of the time so you don’t realize that you haven’t made any genuine connections. But, cutie pledge classes tho! So who cares?

obviously the no.1 house but only for an exclusive group of rich white girls. they're not nice tho so if ur here for the reputation and social life and top frat relations, this is a good fit. if ur here for the sisterhood and professional aspirations, join other houses.

someone said this and i just wanna emphasize how true this is OH MY GOD... 'they only rush rich, white girls. you can tell from their parking lot full of expensive cars. also their house literally looks like a southern plantation. so weird.'
