formal recruitment

So what goes through the heads of sisters when someone is rushing for the second time? Do they look at them through a fresh lens since a whole year has passed or do they not give them a chance?

A lot of girls go out for recruitment again after either being dropped or dropping out of recruitment their freshman year. It happens. With this being said, it definitely puts you at a disadvantage when it comes to some of our chapters. It's very unlikely that girls that dropped just didn't get a bid to anywhere, but they dropped because they didn't like their remaining sororities. While it is discouraging, there is definitely a chance that things will be different this time around. And even if they're not, every girl has the awesome opportunity to start a new chapter on campus! (AZD)

Well, they don't look at you through a fresh lens if they remember you, honestly, because they're going to remember a general impression you made on them> However. it's possible they cut you the first time because you just didn't stand out to them much, and there's always a chance to make a more lasting impression the second time around. If you did something or said something that seriously rubbed a sister the wrong way (even without knowing it), the opinion likely won't change, but if it's a matter of you just blending in too much with the crowd, and this time you make more of an impression, there can be a different outcome.
I would try not to get super discouraged if you even end up with the same chapters you did the first time you went through recruitment. Just how a lot can change for you in a year, the same goes for sororities. Keep an open mind about them the same way you would want them to do for you.
