I'm going to be a sophomore next year I'm transferring from a west coast school, will that affect my chance into getting in a good sorority house?

Not at all! I transferred my sophomore year and rushed and got into one of the top tier houses. Actually, most sororities prefer to have a variety of sophomores along with incoming freshman.
