It is important to have a recommendation especially if you want to be in the "top sorority" . I had a rec sent to every house. You will be competing against other girls who have a rec. I do not have family in npc but I called the local panhellenic and had recommendations sent on my behalf a couple of months ago. I can be wrong but I think it is too late to have a rec sent because all of the recommendations ideally should be sent before june 1. I had mine sent end of june.
