rush clothes
by: PNMI've looked online to see what attire is needed for rush but can someone go into depth as to what is and isn't appropriate? I've heard that we shouldn't show shoulders. Is that true?
#1by: Here you go
No rompers. No cutouts. No super tight or short dresses. No off the shoulder because you will fidget with it too much. Cold shoulder should be fine. The Lilly trend is kind of over. Simple and classic is the safe bet. Don't show too much skin because it is a formal event. Think family wedding stylish but appropriate to wear in a church. Look at instagram from last year and you will have a good idea what is appropriate.

Ok... I'm gonna give you the low down of what I saw girls wearing my year and when I rushed girls from my top tier sorority this past year (I rushed fall 15).
Day 1: Idk what color the tshirts are but maybe have a few options for shorts (like nice, jcrew-style shorts, not booty shorts) in case the color ends up clashing with what you choose. Again, I said jcrew STYLE but it doesn't need to be expensive. They can be from freaking forever 21 or goodwill but your shorts need to fit you well, not give you camel toe, not have your ass hanging out and be cute. You can also wear like those cloth shorts with like lace and bright colors, but again, no ass hanging out please. Also, you can wear wedges if you want but I'd say 80% of girls wear sandals (like nice sandals, tory burch STYLE sandals) and personally, I judged the girls who wore heels on day one lol cus it felt unnecessary

Day 2: this day is definitely the most casual of the non-tshirt days but you still want to look nice. I'd say this day is like.... brunch with friends kind of outfit. I personally wore an off the shoulder top (tooootally fine to wear btw.... I did and had 2 top tiers for pref so.....) and white jeans with wedges. About 50% wear wedges day two. A lot of girls wear dresses that are like simple, pretty sundresses on this day too. Bright colors are always good on this day. Also when people say no rompers, that's dumb. I saw so many girls wearing rompers last year and even a girl wearing a JUMPSUIT and she got into a top tier because she freaking rocked it. Whatever you choose, JUST ROCK IT and make sure it fits you. If you can pull off a hot pink jumpsuit like that girl did, then do it because it shows sooo much of your personality.

Bid day: wear jean shorts (no Nikes) and either converse or sandals or nice tennis shoes. You don't wanna wear bright shorts because you have NO idea what color shirt your bid day shirt will be. Wear a sports bra so you can change into your bid day shirt in the auditorium/rec. Jean shorts or white shorts are the way to go. Simple hair, but do your makeup well because you'll be looking st these pics for years!!!!
