no, you can bring a bag of stuff to the embassy but you don't take it in with you when you meet the sororities and also you give your phone to your recruitment counselor during the whole day

exactly this. also the bag you bring (mine was a backpack!) is left in a big room where the PNM's stay and watched by your RC's!
