Most pledgeship start on Bid Night in the Fall and ends with Initiation in the Spring. That's at least 5+ months!

The latest trend is to wait until second semester to pledge so anyone interested has a chance to check things out during the first semester. Lots of pledgeships last a good half semester or more which is plenty long

Pledgeship at SMU is 8-12 weeks, as it is for most schools in the nation
