socially acceptable to wear gucci belt for rush?

was planning on wearing it as an accessory and didn't think too much into it but one of my friends who goes to school down south said its quote "social suicide"... from a Rutgers sorority perspective should I not wear it?

I don’t think it’s a big deal, they’re a little overdone though maybe switching it up w something more unique would be good
