It's because they force all their members to raise money or they have privileges taken away lol. Rutgers is a pretty middle class school and they make people drop like 500 on derby

The srongest philanthropy? HAHAH. They have the phi sigma sigma foundation and can donate that money to whatever they want aka dance marathon and derby days.

If they donate that money to DM and Derby Days then what's the big deal. It's going to help causes important to Rutgers. They also built a school I think in Haiti so their money goes to many good causes. And isn't that what's an important. Who cares where it goes as long as it's being given away.
