by: ?Why isnt ZTA for the kids? I'm surprised once again by their lack of participation at dance marathon. It looks like all of their dancers were their pledges. This is the universities biggest fund raiser they all do together and they didn't have many girls in it and didn't raise nearly as much as the other sororities.

The question was about not participating at dance marathon. They raised less than $23,000 and they weren't in the top 10 and they were in last place out of sororities. They had far fewer girls signed up to dance when compared to other sororities. I was told it was mostly pledges. If they raised the most money for derby days that's great. If they killed derby days I'm assuming that they did raise the most money. I think it's a shame they try real hard to win a contest that a fraternity puts on but then they don't try for something like DM.

It's hard to raise that much money for two events so close to one another, a lot of donors won't continue to do it. People in every greek org understand this, so I assume you're obviously not in any or else you would. Its extremely difficult to come up with money like that again only six months later. Who cares which event the money went to if it all went to philanthropic causes? You're acting like Derby Days' philanthropy is less important than Dance Marathon's. At least they did something, regardless. I doubt the kids were standing at family hour worrying about where ZTA was so you shouldn't concern yourself either.

derby days is just as great a philanthropy as DM, just because a fraternity rather than the university organizes it doesn't make it any less important. it's actually pretty disgusting that you're basically disparaging such an awesome philanthropy

in regards to derby days, both zta and phi sig did great raising money and regardless of "who deserves to win", zta killed derby days. They also had alot of sisters dancing during the friday shift so if you were at the saturday shift, you would not have seen them
