Hypocrisy among former Greek life members

I’m not stating I am for abolition or reform, but don’t you all find it somewhat odd that those pushing for abolition the most are upperclassmen who have reaped the benefits of being in a sorority/fraternity? And now look down upon those who have not yet deactivated? All thoughts welcome.
