formal rush

Don't put much into that, but houses such as ATO, Delts, Theta Chi, and SAE usually don't put in as much of an effort for formal as they do for summer recruitment. This is because it is basically a crap shoot of kids, and you are getting all of these kids you don't know anything about and meeting them all in under an hour per group.
Formal is basically filling the gaps they couldn't fill during summer recruitment or for a few solid kids they never met before. Watch out for houses like teke or lambda who just throw out a bid to anyone and everyone.

They also look at out of state kids because they can't always summer sign
