pledging this fall

by: Go Cougs

I'm an incoming freshman and there's a few fraternities I'm looking at, however I have a family friend who is an alumni from one of those houses from the 90s. Would it increase my chances of getting a bid from the house he was in if I asked him if I can use him as a connection?

On who he is, and if he is a well-known alumni or not. For my house we know very few alums who are more than 5-8 years out of college other than a select few, and the alumni supervisor/the alums who threaten us to get it together. But if he still contributes to that house, and could connect you to some people in the house then that would be beneficial. Otherwise, you will need to make connections yourself as it is probably a different house now than then. Other than a select few who still follow their traditions and type of house.
