what is greek life like?

Can someone explain what UTK greek life is like? I am very familiar with what it is like at Alabama (swaps on Thursdays, dates to the games, dinners in the houses, etc.) I am trying to decide where to attend next year and what I should be involved in-and if Greek life is for me!

greek life and life in general here is completely different from alabama, i wouldn't even try to compare the two. take alabama's greek life and turn it down like 200% and you get ut's. there are no game day dates and everything in general is way more chill. if you're looking for the stereotypical southern greek experience like there is at ole miss/bama/auburn then UT isn't the place for you but i think the people involved in greek life here like it a lot more like this. not nearly as much pressure and still a ton of fun.

Greek life is very active here but they don’t take it as seriously as Bama. They like to party and have fun!
