First Round - Will I be dropped

It's not true. The algorithm actually forces heavier cuts from all houses early, rather than later. This is so that pnm's can go ahead and focus on the houses that are truly interested in them and not be lead on. Each house is given the maximum number they can invite back each round, which starts out for cuts after RR based on their past pnm return history going back 4-5 years. For successive rounds the numbers are adjusted as the week goes on according to how each house is trending. So basically, all pnm's are ranked in every house each round, and the pnm's who fall below a house's cut-off point are released from that house. A pnm could be liked just fine at a house but still not make it to them the next round based on numbers. Anyone invited to pref is on that bid list somewhere. There are no cuts after pref, just matching the sororities' 1st choices with the pnm's 1st choices.

It is not true, you can and will get dropped from alot of houses after RR. Don't take it personally, it's the algorithm. Honestly it's for the best so you can focus on houses that actually want you, rather than getting your hopes up only to be cut next round.

If u make it to pref, ur on the bid list, so there are definitely a lot of cuts after house tours. A lot of girls do get dropped by a lot of houses after RR though (and after every round, honestly). But you can't really predict it because sometimes it's just based on numbers, so just stay open-minded and remember that being dropped doesn't always mean they didn't like u. Tough process but trust that the houses that invited u back did so because they could see u there, especially in later rounds!

More popular or “wanted” houses will also get to invite less PNMs back than others. The idea is that these houses are expecting to “keep” most of the girls they invite back, whereas a house that is less desired will need to invite back more and cast a wider net. Not sure exactly, but I think those invite numbers are based on historical and current data about how many PNMs try to drop the house after each round.

Is that really true though? My roommate last year got dropped from half the houses after the first round. She ended up not pledging anywhere because I think that really affected her.
