living in the houses

by: FutureRusher

I'm going to umass next year and was wondering if I was pledged into a sorority how moving into the house would work? Would freshmen be able to, are they usually full, is there a waitlist? Would I be able to terminate a dorm contract in order to?

Some freshman are able to move into the houses spring semester, typically depends on how many spots there are available (ie, girls going abroad, moving out , etc) Also some chapters have point systems so like the higher amount of points you have the higher chance you have of getting to move in. Other chapters base it on seniority. Also about the dorm contract some chapters will cover the fee. Like the person said above don't be afraid to ask these questions during recruitment. Good luck!
