sorority recruitment size/chapter

by: VTQs

I heard that each chapter is being asked to take in more girls than the past few years because of the larger population of girls looking to rush. Does anyone know what the bid size may be that each chapter (on average) would extend to? Also does anyone know an estimate of how many girls are rushing this spring?

But not everyone is expected to accept right? So they'll extend more than 70 offers? because thats about 350 people who won't get accepted

Sadly a lot of girls will end up dropping due to not getting certain houses back. Some chapters are expecting about 80 or so girls in their new pledge class but that all depends. But like I said girls drop and if its at 1200 now there's big chances it will go down by the end

How does the "dropping" work? (per round) For example, let's say you rank A, B, C, D, E, F, for your top six at the end of the second day, but only G, H, and I ranked you back- are you already out by Wednesday?

Also, If you are a minority, should you rank based on the sororities you think will be most lenient to a non-white girl? or truly go after the ones you connect with regardless of the "tier level"?

lolol there are BEAUTIFUL "minorites" and like exotic looking girls in every sorority especially like KD and DG. It's 2016! dont let your race stop you from anything girl. Go for the ones you like haha.

You don't really "drop" a sorority. In your example, if ABCDEF all dropped you, and GHI all extended you an invitation, you go back to the GHI parties. Because of the process of choosing colleges you're used to looking for "top," but all the sororities here are actually very similar. Find the group you love. And whether you're minority or not, keeping a "lower tier" group that you like on the list is a good strategy. Think about what you want from sorority membership. Women who are going through just to get in a "top" group to prop up their sense of themselves usually end up disappointed.
