do sororities drop a lot of pnms for db 1?
by: pnmhow likely is it for an average pnm to get 7 houses back for philanthropy? also what reasons other than gpa will girls get dropped after datebook 1? will you get dropped just if they don’t like ur vibe or will you only get dropped for like bad social media or an atrocious registration vid?

Yes, I believe all Panhellenic sororities nationally must use release figure management. That means the houses with the highest return rates have to drop the most pnms each round. As someone else said, the top houses end up dropping at least 50% or more of the PNM‘s after the video round and that continues throughout rush.

For each datebook you will have a maximum number of houses
I’m pretty sure it goes like this:
DB1 - 7 houses
DB2 - 5 Houses
DB 3 - 3 Houses
Pref - 2 houses
DISCLAIMER!
It is very common and actually NORMAL to not have the maximum number of houses on any days. Please do not beat yourself up if you don’t start off with 7 houses (my numbers were 6,4,3,1)

Since you only had one house for pref, did that mean you knew where you would get a bid from? Or were you at risk of being dropped completely?

I knew I was getting a bid because I was the last girl out every day of rush (usually a good sign that they are interested) and I held great conversation with the actives I talked to! I don’t know of anyone who didn’t receive a bid after pref, but as far as I know you have to really mess up to get dropped after pref.

You are always at risk of being dropped completely unless you have 2 houses for pref. If you sip and don’t get a bid your rg will call you to let you know so you don’t show up on bid day w/o a bid 😢

you can totally get dropped after pref if you only have one house and you aren’t high enough on their bid list. this is why sip is really discouraged 🫤

what reasons were behind dropping them? was it bad videos or that they didn’t fit the “vibe”? or was it bc of social media or grades?
