Bids and rush intensity

by: Scared pnm

Is Boulder rush actually so big and competitive that half of the girls rushing won’t get bids? I have an open mind going in to rush and this could totally change and I’m open to it totally changing but rn I think my top picks would be chi o, dg, and theta… is it actually likely to end rush without a bid? Also should I be worried that no actives have reached out or followed me?

the amount of bids changes each year/increases each year. they try to make it proportionate to how many girls are rushing. it isn't common to end rush without a bid. you might go into pref with only one house but usually if you are going to a house for pref then they are confident they want you and just that solidification. don't be worried that actives haven't reached out or followed you. most sororities except for aphi don't have people reach out. try following some girls in different sororities and if you have boulder in your bio then they will likely follow you back.

It seems crazy and lowkey scary but girls who want to be part of a sisterhood will get bids (if ur social media is clean and you didn’t fail out of highschool). The pledge classes get larger every year last year my pc was about 175. Don’t focus on getting one house, be open rush is so fun it’s cool seeing what it’s like at every house. I believe there is a house for everyone and rush is much for chill than it seems. Just be you! Panhel love!

Don’t worry at all about not getting followed or reached out to what matters most is the in person conversations - I didn’t sign up for recruitment until literally days before it was the cutoff and I was completely fine

i watched a rush vlog on yt of a girl who is now a junior at cu and she said that she heard that close to half of the girls going through recruitment choose to drop before bid day. if u don’t drop or SIP for bid, socials r clean, gpa is decent, and don’t say bad things during rush ur gonna be ok.

so many girls go into rush thinking they know exactly which house they want and drop out when they get cut by that house. It’s really too bad because even tho greeklife isn’t everything it’s an amazing experience. i dropped out freshman year and cried most of the night on bid day. trust me you will have almost the same experience in every house and when girls on your floor are going to formal, big/little reveal, sisterhoods, etc you are going to feel left out. btw i cob’d in the spring and love my house!

My advice to all PNM‘s is see rush through till the end, don’t be tempted to drop if you lose the house that you think you really want, because I would say most girls who see it through the end find their home and absolutely love it.
