sorority rush with low gpa

by: hi

hi. what can i expect going into rush having a fairly low gpa (3.2ish unweighted, 3.5 weighted). which sororities can i expect to be automatically dropped from, and which sororities don’t have strict gpa cut offs? also is their a way for me to try to advocate or explain that i’m not bad at school.

You’ll get dropped from chio but not sure about the rest. I think theta also has a high gpa cut off.

I found this on the CU Frat and Srat Life page:

If you have a GPA below a 3.0 for a new student and a 2.5 for a current student, you likely will not be eligible to join. We also know that there could be extenuating circumstances that have negatively impacted your GPA. If that is the case, please complete the GPA explanation section during registration to provide an explanation.

So, yes, there is a place to explain a lower GPA, HTH.

Dg and chi o might drop you if your grades aren’t high enough!

most sororities have gpa cut offs, but i would say you would only get dropped right away by chi o, dg, and maybe theta. but, you can explain why your gpa was low (illness, family issues, etc) and im sure most houses will keep that in mind!
