If you went through formal recruitment and received a bid, but did not accept it can you participate in spring rush activities since it's not "formal recruitment"? Also why is it that in some schools girls can get many bids but here in Cal you are limited to one?

If you signed the contract from Panhellenic before you received a bid, you are not allowed to participate in any rush events for 12 months. Therefore, the earliest you can participate in recruitment is fall formal recruitment 2014. You are limited to one bid during fall recruitment based on your preferences. You put down the preference of your house and it is matched to the list the house provides of pnms they would like. If you put a house first and did not get that house, it means you were not high up on their list of pnms they wanted.

During COB or an informal rush it is possible...even likely to get multiple BIDS. And it is tricky because a chapter my say you only have a certain amount of hours or days to respond and you don't know whether another chart that you have been seeing May be about to offer you a bid too. One sign that a chapter is likely to offer you a bid is that you have already been invited twice before and you are being invited for a third time. Or you are invited to a semi formal event after a couple of other events. On the other hand if you are already well known to the chapter, or if they are desperate, they may bid you after just one invite, or two. Tricky. If you are seeing multiple chapters and one group offers you a bid but you really love another house, see if you can hold off answering house number one a short time to see if you get that third invite and likely bid from the house you love.

Different greek systems across campuses will vary just based off things like the size of the greek community alone. Because ours is so big, we streamline the process, and only give one bid in the fall as to maximize the number of women who receive bids overall for a stronger/larger Greek community.
