It happens, and this happened to me multiple times during my recruitment experience, so I totally get how you feel. I had 3 favorite houses after Unity Day that all dropped me at a different stage of the recruitment process. It’s confusing and it sucks. And it doesn’t mean the girl you thought you were giving with didn’t like you. There are so many factors that go into determining who gets invited back. If a lot of girls had good experiences at Alpha Alpha Alpha and no one wants to drop them, then people who want to go back don’t always get to because the chapters’ lists do have to get smaller. So it depends on what mood someone was in, how the conversations went for other PNMs at that house, what their historical retention rate during recruitment is. It feels personal, but in most cases, it’s not. It’s just bad luck. Don’t be afraid to talk to your RC about this, and keep an open mind at pref tonight. I firmly believe there is no one chapter for anyone, and I ended up having a great 4 year experience at the chapter I ended up accepting a bid from.
