warning about delta sigma
by: reality
this is coming from a girl who joined the house and then dropped out...
delta sigma is not like other sororities on campus! since it is local, a lot of girls don't even consider it and will drop it automatically, making delta sigma have to take basically anyone who wants to join. the house has no overall "feel" or "personality", but instead is filled with random girls who still wanted to be in a sorority but didn't get into their house of choice. Most girls end up liking it after a while because they find their friends but overall it really really should not be even in phc.
It is unfair that we are all promised bids to sororities and then some of us are forced into a house that isn't even a sorority! (there were girls living there that were not members of the house + no national organization = definitely not a sorority in my opinion).
This is nothing against delta sigma, but I want to give girls going through rush the knowledge I wish I had. I preffed delta sigma over a known lower tier house and regret it so much. I had to go all of freshman year without a house and can only rush again now.. just be careful and if it is for you, then enjoy! they have a nice physical house!

I’m in a frat, solid mid frat if that counts, but honesty this post is bull. Of course, everyone has their own experience and opinion, but the girls at delta sig are all super chill and are a solid mid house as well. Yeah, they are not national phc recognized, but a stupid title like that shouldn’t matter, since what should matter most is the sisterhood. I’ve heard stories of girls in every house having to warm up, get used to & find their group of friends, so it’s pretty normal for that to happen in delta sig too. All I can say, they’re a respectable and well liked house that get along and invited to frats all over the spectrum, and they’re fun and always down for a good time.

hi! Respect your experience, but wanted to say that I’m in delta sig and love it. When I joined in fall ‘17, it was because, in addition to the girls I talked to all being involved on campus and easy to vibe with, I liked that it was local. To me, it meant that the girls in the house cared so much about delta dog that they dedicated time to defining their own values and creating a new chapter that reflected those. I’ve found that most of my pledge class feels the same.
