If you want to be social in your years at Cal then this is the house to be in. Doesn’t feel like a classic sorority, it’s just filled with a group of friends who share a house and a couple Greek letters

Pi Beta Phi - ΠΒΦ Sorority at University of California, Berkeley - UCB 3.4 Meh. They act all "bro-y" and "ReLatAble" during rush but honestly not the nicest group of girls. I've had better experiences with Kappa's, Alpha Phi's and DG's.

Pi Beta Phi - ΠΒΦ Sorority at University of California, Berkeley - UCB 1.9 Just because this house is a top tier house, it doesn’t mean you should be aiming to join it. Top tier only represents historic popularity and how others in the past have viewed them. This house is very toxic. I know of girls who were belittled by older members their actual first day there. I know of girls who wanted to drop until the very end of second semester when they “got used to it.” You should not have to get used to the conditions of your house. The sisterhood is poor because the sisters themselves are mean. I have yet to meet one truly genuine and nice Pi Phi, though I know they definitely exist since so many of the girls are miserable with the conditions. So sad. They’re top house but unlike the others who have at least one positive trait to be known by all people know about this house is just how mean they are and have been in the past. I’ve heard they also take pictures of you during one of the later rush week days and are the only house I’ve ever heard of doing so. What a fun way to decide your new sisters.

Pi Beta Phi - ΠΒΦ Sorority at University of California, Berkeley - UCB 2.4 When I came to Cal a couple years ago Pi Phi and Kappa were seen as tied with Kappa being seen as “classier” and Pi Phi being seen as more rude/pretentious. In all honesty I never knew why this was, but after being in Greek life for a couple years I can pretty much confirm this. Some of the rudest most entitled girls I’ve ever met are in this house. I don’t know if they just attract girls like this or if Pi Phis are taught to be this pretentious, but it’s so ridiculous. A few cases in point: a girl in my PNM group freshman year and I went out to lunch after bid night/day, and I remember her pulling up greek rank and going on and on about how she got a “top” house (for reference, I am in a mid tier house). I work with a few pi phis and they are all incredibly offputting and don’t even bother to talk to you unless they need something. I’ve had my fair share of classes with pi phis too and while I’m sure some are intelligent, I’ve always been taken aback by how dumb/clueless some of these girls are. They’ll say incredibly tone deaf things and then pass it off as being “quirky” or having “no filter.” This doesn’t make you real, it just makes you rude. Being “fun” doesn’t mean you can be reckless, disregard everyone who isn’t in a top house and treat people like crap. At first I thought it was just a few bad apples but time and time again pi phi has proven me wrong. In terms of looks I’m not sure if Kappa did better this year, but I do know pi phi will forever be trailing them unless they shape up and actually start treating people with respect.
