recs
by: tartWhat sororities REQUIRE you to have recs? And what do you do if you can't get a rec for that sorority?

There are few sororities that will keep you around without a rec. As much as that stinks, know it is imperative that you get recs for as many sororities as you can. 1 will be enough; 2 is super! However, don't fret completely if it's a random sorority that is hard to get a rec for. If they like you enough, they will secure you a rec.

There is not one sorority that will pledge ANYONE without a rec. Get real. Now, if they do not have one on you, and they really want you, they will introduce you to an alumni there at the party and she will write one on you. (Yes, they all do this.) Let's face it, many recs are written by women who have no idea who they are writing the rec on... it's just a word of mouth deal. Another good idea, write a good resume for what you did in high school and send it to whoever you know was in a sorority in college. (Mom's friends, church, school friends moms, relatives, etc..)

They ALL have to have one to pledge anyone. How many times does these question have to be put up here to know the answer?! If you know someone-get the rec- if you don't have one on your own and a sorority wants you-they'll get one. If you don't have one from the group you want and you did not get a bid-they DID NOT WANT YOU. A sorority can find a rec on anyone they want.
