will i be dropped for this?
by: 2025 rush girlhey! i'm rushing this fall and im openly a lesbian, i don't make it my whole personality and people from my hometown (in MS) don't make it a big thing, but im worried it may be different at auburn. my gf and i have prom pictures up, should i keep that on the down low?

You will be fine! It might be a bigger deal to some of the larger sororities that care about that type of thing but they need to grow up. Don’t delete them. You’ll want to find a group that supports you and that will be what’s worth it in the long run. There are lots of queer girls in greek life!!!

honestly it shouldn't matter. as an active it probably won't even come up im rush because you're not supposed to talk about boys/relationships. once youre in it's not something they can drop you for and you'll find a mix of people who accept it and people who don't in every sorority

Give recruitment a shot. You are prob going to get a more conservative/Southern vibe from several of the tradionally "top" houses. It will be pretty obvious, tbh. You need to ask yourself if that is who you want to hang out with. Not gonna name names here.
The houses that have more out-of-state girls seem to be more open-minded (regarding a number of things). Based on the girls I know in some of those chapters, you are going to prob find a more chill vibe (...doesn't mean they don't party). I will name names here (as I think open-mindedness is a good thing): Kappa, GPhi, DG, Theta, Tri Delta, and maybe Sig Kap and Pi Phi (though more "Southern).
Good luck and enjoy the process.
