Honestly the greek life is really cool here! There are a lot of really sick parties and mixers and everyone pretty accepting you just have to meet the right people

Advice for PNMs. Go into rush with a open mind. You will hear lots of rumors and other organizations say things about others. This is an opportunity for you to meet friends for the rest of your life. The size of the frats and sororities helps with being able to get to know and vibe with everyone in the chapter. This is something you hardly see at bigger schools where you have a chapter of 200 people. Another tip: You can still be friends with people from other chapters. You don’t have to follow your roommate or friend and join a chapter you didn’t vibe with. You will either regret your decision or drop. Just be yourself. If you don’t make it in the fall, then try again in spring or the following year. Most of the time you didn’t put yourself out there enough for people to get to know you. You will see comments on this site about chapters, I recommend to take these comments with a grain of salt. Yes, some of these are true while others are just some kid at 4am hating on a rival chapter. Good luck to any PNMs who read this.

The ratings are for Greek life overall, but this is specifically for incoming women: just give it a try. Everyone gets nervous about recruitment and jumps on this website, but read a couple posts and it’s obvious who’s on here to promote themselves, who’s on here because they’re angry, and who’s trying to get in your head. I have friends in every chapter who have had good experiences, and friends who have dropped from chapters because greek life just wasn’t for them. And hazing isn’t tolerated anywhere, btw. Look for the sorority members with traits that you look for in your friends because the glory on Instagram will fade after the first week. People will have something to say no matter where you end up- find your fit and it won’t matter.

Use your common sense and pay attention when you look at these ratings. If you see someone rate a fraternity or sorority on a random day at 3am when everyone is out of school during a break, is it really a legit and unbiased rating? Obviously not. Someone is probably just being a hater is trying to defame that organization, cause that's what like to people do for some reason. Now if a rating is during the school year right after a mixer? Chances are it is legit as someone had a genuine experience with that organization. Overall I would say most groups of both fraternities and sororities are a lot better in real life than these ratings will have you believe, so please people, stop being so bitter.

Definitely one of the best Greek programs all across. Gives you the great Greek feel that most smaller schools lack. Better than southern and UGA by far.

Mercer has a very strong greek life program. The university holds alot against Mercer, but the groups remain strong. You feel a sense of individuality at smaller schools like mercer, except you still get the college frat-sorority feel as to where it's not completely insane or overwhelming. I love it!
