spring pnm
by: Spring RushHow does spring rush work? And why don't all the sororities participate

It's informal, shorter and it can be more competitive since there are fewer spots. But, with less girls rushing you still have a good chance. It's such a game of numbers and your chances vary, like with gambling or betting. The houses that don't participate are full or at total. Almost every house has members who graduate in December, who drop or who transfer but those numbers are usually low. If a house graduates four members in December then the four spots open up but they won't participate in spring/informal rush. What they might do is quietly offer four bids to girls they either know or who signed up for continuous open bidding. Don't let anyone snidely tell you that it isn't worth it or that you're less of a member if you go this route. It's a great way to join, you'll have an extra semester with your sisters and less competition than in the fall. All houses have done this at one point in the past and all the houses' nationals are always pleased with new members!
