Someone's upset

Pretty doesn't equal quality, class, integrity or anything else. Good looking people can band together and do nothing but fight. We all know one of those is not known for being sisterly but for having issues.

I'm sorry but if you seriously think all the top houses rush based only on looks you are kidding yourself. The classier ones wouldn't dare take a girl with a questionable high school rep no matter how "conventionally pretty" she is. You know good and well they pride themselves are getting substance to further their impact on campus. Sure they want cute girls who are going to represent them well, but they also want girls who have an involved track record and possess leadership to carry on their extensive involvement within the university. They also seek to rush multitalented girls who are a part of university athletics and who will add to their extensive list of accolades. Don't do your fellow Greeks the disservice of trying to portray the competitive houses as ones blind to everything but appearances because you know good and well that's not true. Sure some of the "tops" put more emphasis on "conventionally pretty" but at least half of the top houses want girls with good morals and good hearts as well. Don't undermine their bonds of sisterhood, it speaks volumes of your own and insults their amazing new members are were dying to have on your lawn too.

I'm sorry but that is some complete crap. I know PLEANTY of girls who have unbelievable resumes that ended up in "middle tier" chapters and PLEANTY of girls with questionable high school reps in tops.

I think you need to read more carefully. Seemed to have missed the whole point. Didn't say all great résumés make it into "top" houses or that all "top" houses rush good morals. But you know the houses do their homework, so don't act like they rush blindly based on one thing. Everyone really needs to stop reducing girls to just looks in order to make their self feel better. It's awful to criticize a woman based on looks whether they be exceptional or average. You're doing the same thing as the girls promoting ranks based solely on good looks! These girls got into UF for goodness sake. They're all outstanding!

PLEANTY? Do you mean plenty? You spelled it wrong twice. I mean, don't hate here but really - if you are a UF student you are one of the highest academically ranked students in Florida. PLEANTY? Come on!!! You are making us look bad. Obviously not a journalism major????
