sigma kappa strict?
by: 2015 PNMHey Everyone! I signed up to rush in the fall. I have been reading through some of the rankings and I noticed that Sigma Kappa was called out for having strict rules like always having to straighten your hair if wearing their stuff? Is this how all sororities are or does it depend on the chapter?

Pnms when you go through rush you will probably be overwhelmed with how "perfect" everyone looks and you might think that's how sorority life is but its not all the time. We look 110% our best to compete with other chapters and there are silly rules like maybe get a spray tan, get your nails done, whiten your teeth, touch up your hair. But that's solely for recruitment. When you pick a chapter, yes you go through a little presentation about proper sorority and fraternity etiquette but it's common sense stuff like don't wear letters when you're partying or out and don't talk about a different frat at another frats house it's rude. I'm in a different chapter and I've never been forced to be someone I'm not to fit a mold. So not all of sorority life is like this please keep that in mind. And this is an anonymous site everything could be extremely exaggerated you never know. Just please go through recruitment looking for a sisterhood you want to join and that you feel like is right for you.

First off, shout out to sigma kappa who commented on tons of other posts so all the posts about them would be pushed to the bottom. You're going to find problems during recruitment because through hear say, girls are going to realize that your sisterhood isn't great and the rules are intense. You might want to figure out a great way to fix your image otherwise it's going to be hard to recruit people who want to live according to your rules.

Yes. This is a great way to put it. And honestly, if you're not okay with wearing certain makeup or shoes or having your nails done during one week a year (recruitment), maybe sorority life isn't for you, because every chapter will want you to look your best for that one week
