Recruitment is not nearly as stressful as other schools. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, pretty much everyone gets a bid to something. No sorority is overly terrible that even getting your last choice won't be bad. If you want a specific sorority, don't stress about it, just reach out to some older girls in it and you'll be fine.

Worth the RUSH!

A lot of greeek life for people seeking it. LMU is all about what you make of it

About half of LMU's student body participates in greek life. It's a huge part of the college experience however you're not missing out on anything if you don't join a fraternity or a sorority. Due to such high demand and only a few fraternities and sororities, it is extremely competitive. The parties are amazing and low-key crazy and there's always at least something going on every night of the weekend. If you're apart of greek life it is more likely that you'll know about these parties however you can still get in even as a GDI. Every sorority and fraternity at this school is amazing and for the most part, they are all well recognized on a national level regardless of their ranking at LMU.

I would not come to LMU if you're planning on revolving your life around a Greek system. Though our Greek life is present, we don't have houses and there are only seven frats and seven sororities. LMU is a small school but don't let that fool you when rush comes along in the Spring. It is plenty competitive and a lot of girls are fighting to get into the small pledge classes of the top two-three sororities. Guys don't seem to have too hard of a time rushing but you definitely have to be "the bro" their looking for. The chapters at LMU also have rules that other big schools have such a you can't skip meetings or you will be fined, you have to have a certain number of community hours, you have to go to a certain amount of events etc etc. If you're looking for a low-key but enjoyable greek system then come to LMU.

Greek houses are not allowed at LMU, unfortunately! Greek Life is fairly small here, but very involved on campus. I'd say there are more girls than guys (there is one more sorority) but not by much. There is absolutely no hazing, and anyone that goes through formal recruitment, behaves appropriately at all the parties and doesn't suicide bid is basically guaranteed a bid.
