sorority spring rush
by: SophomoreCan someone explain to me exactly how spring rush works? What happens on each day? And are you more or less likely to get a bid in the spring rather than fall? Thanks!

Informal Rush has no real structure. You have to find the parties (Panhel usually has the schedules posted), and some houses are invite only. Not all houses have the same number of parties. Also, some houses bid girls before other houses, so if you turn down your bid they will probably bid someone else. It is much harder than the fall.

Follow URI Sorority Recruitment on Instagram and Facebook and they will post all of the dates you need for every house. Since spring rush is informal, you decide which houses you choose to go to or not to go to (depending on the sororities participating) rather than going to all 10 houses like during fall recruitment. Each house will have an open house where anyone can show up, and then they will decide whether or not to invite you back (and you can choose to go back or not to a house that has invited you back). The parties are typically the same as fall recruitment where you will meet with sisters and talk to get to know them. You are definitely less likely to get a bid during spring recruitment, but don't let that intimidate you!
