what

I quit rec. today after i got cut from all of the houses i loved and felt i fit into best. These houses happened to be mid to top tier and I was only asked back to the very bottom tier houses, where if I ended up getting a bid from I would have felt very uncomfortable and wouldn't have fit in. I'm really confused as to why a ton of girls that were normal and decent looking got cut from their favorites going into sisterhood round and even today, which ended up quitting as well. I thought every conversation I had at each house went perfectly fine, and some girls even gave me false hope that I would be invited back, then I wasn't. So If someone could maybe explain this to me because i'm really confused and surprised about how all of this went down and i'm sure I'm not alone.

Based on what you just said greek life probably isn't from you. I know tons of girls who received bids for chapters that this site considers "bottom" tiers and once they gave their chapters a chance they realized that they really do fit in. Every chapter has things they look for and they are all different obviously they didn't think you had what they were looking for in their members.

Also, just because 1 or 2 girls gave you the impression doesn't mean that you will get invited back... all members vote on who gets invited back.

The girls that you think gave you false hope could very well be as disappointed that you didn't get invited back. Everyone must remember that each house has a system and it's not like a check your liked you are prob. scored then scores are put in order and you just might not have scored high enough maybe from previous visits all houses are different but there is a pecking order and it's just where you fall on the house return list

Being a member of a sorority, any sorority, is about sisterhood. Why is that important? Because we want to find girls who we can be sisters with, live with, hang out with, be ourselves with. If your favorite houses couldn't see themselves actually being friends with you, they probably dropped you. Bottom tier chapters have to take some PNMs back to pref that they might not want - which explains why you haven't been released entirely from recruitment (I assume if you didn't feel a connection to them, then they didn't feel a connection to you either).

Perhaps you're confused because you don't see yourself as others see you. The girls in the houses you grouped into the top and middle tier probably saw you in the same way as you saw the girls you grouped into the bottom tier. They are trained to make you feel like you're having a good conversation, but it's possible that they were having to carry you conversationally and found you a bit socially awkward. It's too bad you let your chance to improve your skills for life by dropping out of recruitment. I think those houses that you considered beneath you could have helped you learn to be a better and more social person. If they had been willing to give you a bid.

Same thing happened to me and I don't see myself as socially awkward because I had to keep a lot of conversations going. I didn't get asked back to any of my favorites today and I ended up leaving. There were so many girls rushing and it just didn't work out and It doesn't mean you aren't good enough.

You having to keep a conversation going isn't a good sign either. It has nothing to do with you, but sometimes people just don't click well.
