I think being a founding sister would feel great to be. I think a con is if not a lot of people join and it somehow got cancelled. Since it is new, a lot of people will rush if they do not make this Monday's Bid Day. So the people will be like a hit or miss. I think the pro would be starting the sorority in general and making new traditions.

It would definitely be fun to start a new chapter - Gamma Phi is clearly doing well after their first couple of years on campus. Some things to consider are the fact that ZTA will be "bottom" when they start, they also will not have a chapter house right away (as far as I know). It's also not a guarantee that ZTA will do well, it's really up to the girls they recruit.

The thing is though, even if half of Kappa's babies went ZTA, that's 30 members of a chapter.

From someone who was a founding sister of my chapter, I can tell you founding my sorority was such an awesome experience. You get to really put your mark on the sorority and have a major say in who your sisters end up being. It's a great chance to build the sorority the way you and your sisters want it to be, you have a fresh start and don't have to fight against any weird stereotypes. You also have a lot to prove but Zeta's put on an amazing rush and they don't let in just anybody. See if your personality and what you wants fits Zeta's stereotype (similar to Alpha Phi on most campuses) and if it does, go for it! It was such a great experience, of course it's a lot of work and some sororities might be bitter about it but the guys love newbies and plenty of sororities will be super supportive and excited

Cons, you'd basically be creating a new chapter. That's a lot of work. You have a lot of different girls coming together, trying to voice how they want the chapter run and it causes a lot of drama. You're also the new house and will automatically be bottom tier, since you'll be seen as the rejects. I have several friends who joined gphi when they started here and said the drama within is so unreal. They had voted people into office basically shortly after joining, so you couldn't get a sense if that person would be a good leader. They said it is basically a constant power struggle, which will most likely be the same for zeta. Also, you'll be under so much scrutiny as nationals will be breathing down your neck making sure you don't f up. So really it's not your chapter, but their chapter, since they'll be telling you everything that you have to do

If the kappa babies are rushing Zeta then yes they'll start at the bottom but they will rise pretty quickly. There will be a very diverse group of girls but with the kappa babies and girls similar to the kappa babies that were wanting to rush kappa to begin with, they're gonna run zeta next year once nationals is gone. Once they get their pc and start their socials is when we can actually tell how well zeta is going to do
