cuts

I thought the sororities really liked me and I felt comfortable talking to everyone. I am a Sophomore and my first semester GPA here was not good at all and I struggled a lot in hard classes. I only got asked back to 5 houses and none of them are any of the ones I wanted so I decided to just go home. Were my cuts mainly because of my grades? What else did they look for?

you're a sophomore and you should have looked into what houses are looking for. But most likely grades. Look into kappa kappa zeta/ZTA after what happen to kappa a lot of their pledges will probably go zeta because they're soph. too and nobody wants kappas leftovers

First, was your GPA lower than 2.7 or 2.8? If so, it was probably due to grades. Because the first round goes so quickly it's often hard for chapters to rank PNMs based on convos for their first round of cuts. I would say more chapters cut for grades and class rank the first round than any other reason. Being a sophomore alone won't typically get you cut first round, though.

It was probably your grades if they were really low. It's also really hard for chapters to remember every girl they talk to, so if even you were liked by a chapter, you might have gotten cut for a girl that chapter loved.
