Is Rushing Worth It?

Incoming freshmen here thinking of rushing a sorority this spring, but I’ve heard Greek life is dead at osu. Told my friends at osu that I wanted to rush and they were like “girl why? No one here cares about Greek life. Just join the bar scene and find a few parties and you’ll be fine.” Most of the people I met at orientation acted the same. Is Greek life here dead? Is it worth it to rush?

If you’re interested in rushing, you should do it, but if you don’t get in one of the top 4 sororities, it’s not really worth it. Greek life isn’t big here at all so if you’re not on top, you should just drop unless being in a sisterhood really matters to you.

Greek life at OSU isn’t huge relative to the size of the school, but there’s still over 6000 students making it the biggest in Ohio and one of the biggest in the Big10. So yes, the bar scene at osu is definitely big, but I would not say that Greek life is necessarily small or dying

it's worth it to just try it! it's a great way meet people and have fun. doesn't matter if you are in a top sorority or not. greek life is small compared to the rest of the school but overall there are quite a lot of people in greek life at osu.
