Freshman q for frats

asking as a freshman because I don’t understand: why do frats like dke and ksig pair for practically all of their parties while other frats like sig chi and apes like to throw solo? I never understood, r they not able to throw a solo party or they just like the frats they pair with

Some of it is about money, because you can save a couple hundred bucks by pairing (beneficial for both sides). Some frats will pair for everything bc they can’t throw on their own though, but usually it’s more about money
