Pretty sure all sororities do cob if they’re below a certain quota. Fall semester chi o and agd didn’t have cob since their number of active members were above that quota. But cob can be pretty competitive for some houses also

If you dropped because you got cut by a top or even mid house, it’s really unlikely you’ll have a better chance with COB. Those houses , if they even do cob, will have a very small number of openings that will go to friends / people they already have their eye on. Better to stay in the process, it is your best opportunity.

PNMs who dropped, read this. If you could "only see yourself" at Alpha Phi, DG, Pi Phi and they dropped you. and you "just aren't feeling it" at some other sorority you think is beneath you, you need to get a grip. You have made these decisions under really controlled and non-realistic conditions - rush parties - and you've had conversations with, what, 10 girls in each house max? You really can't base whether you can "see yourself" in a house from that - and if you can't find sisters in a sorority with 200 girls in it, it's not going to happen for you anywhere. So go with who wants you there - check out COB and give those "lesser" houses a chance. Also - some houses (like PNMs) just don't do well at formal recruitment and shine much brighter in a more relaxed setting - you may be surprised...

And to add to what I said earlier - there are NO "bad" houses at Ohio State. Every sorority is healthy in terms of numbers and how they operate. Every one has some pretty girls, some less "conventionally attractive" ones, some sweet ones, some not-so-sweet ones, and so on. They all do fun stuff and they all have great sisterhoods - DESPITE what you read on here, which you will learn is generally the demented ramblings of people not in the Greek system or who even go to Ohio State. Don't get hung up on letters. No one will care past sophomore year, and certainly not after graduation.

I think the biggest unspoken truth about Ohio State's sororities by the way is just how similar they all are to one another. We just don't have those set in stone ranks like the southern schools do - it's more fluid and you will be surprised how your friend groups will extend to all "levels" of sororities.

Enjoy your bids tonight, if you dropped out and regret it look again, and if you get your second choice - GO TO BID DAY. You lose nothing from that - and it is so so rude to not show up when you have potentially taken another girl's spot!

Chapter total needs to be reset before they know if they are under total. Once this is established, check with Panhel to add yourself to the list for COB.
Some chapters under total will only have a few openings and often they do a invitation-only event for friends of current chapter members instead being open to all PNMs that signed up.
