What rankings don’t tell you
by: factosThese ranks don’t tell you the brotherhood or sisterhood of these houses. Both of these are subjective to each person. If your goal is to join a house with the hottest girls/guys, that’s fine. If your goal is to find quality people, that’s also fine. But in general, just go wherever you enjoy talking to the members and you can see yourself for 2-3 years. When you graduate, you won’t care about this arbitrary stuff, so just go somewhere you can see yourself making an impact

I wish I had gone with my gut instead of listening to these stupid rankings. I ended up selecting my pref bc it was higher ranked than the other. At first I was ecstatic to get my bid. The strat looked good on the outside but on the inside it was not a nice welcoming group of girls.
One of my friends was SO upset getting her second choice but she is so happy and having a much better experience.

Yes this is so important. Everyone's experiences and opinions on this site are going to be super subjective because everyone wants something different in a house and that's ok! PNMs, as exhausted as you may be, try and really enjoy this process and don't put thought into most things you read here. You'll make great friends during the recruitment process and I promise no one will care about the "rank" of your house in real life. I am in what this site would rank as a lower tier house and to me it's been amazing. My friend group from freshman year dorms all mostly ended up in "top houses" and I probably talk/hangout with them just as much as I do with my own sisters. Prioritize what you are looking for in a house rather than listening to everyone else and I'm sure you'll have a great experience!

The more the frat promotes collective brotherhood, the more close they are. Many frats have a divide between PCs, so the more they’re able to have older guys become closer with younger guys, the better
