Living in the house mandatory?

by:

About to go through recruitment. Which groups have mandatory requirements to live in the house? And for how long?

It depends on when you join. Some fraternities may have a requirement, but not enough rooms to have everyone live in the house. STEP approved fraternities can typically have sophomores live in to fulfill their housing contract, such as Delt, Beta, and ATO. Other non-STEP approved fraternities such as Sigma Chi, Pi Kappa Phi, Acacia, Apes, and others can have sophomores live in if they get out of their housing contract, and they’re usually more lenient on who gets to live in the house. Hope this helps

Honestly living in sophomore year is the move because they’re step approved houses and you get out of living in dorms with rules, and instead get to live with your brothers (or sisters)
My fraternity didn’t have sophomore live in and I hated living in a dorm again

Sororities definitely vary. Check the PHA look book for specifics but from what I know pretty much none of the houses have an issue filling their house and most girls want to live in so def live in if you get the opportunity!

Also most housing contracts are 1 school year and should get you out of the dorms as a sophomore
