The Neglect of Safety

I think the fact that we’re always the school that has to face unjust deaths due to fraternities neglect is appalling. Frats like Phi Psi, DKE, and Ksig have never held their members lives as a priority. They are more concerned about reputation whether it be focusing on being as wild as can be or hazing to point of hospitalization (DKE at the forefront of being the worst). These frats need to take accountability and at least prioritize well being and some safety. At least Delt, Sig Chi, and ATO prioritize safety and don’t go too far. We get trying to have a good time, but how many people have to die?

How are we always the school? Chase was the first death- and that’s at the hand of a criminal murderer, not phi psi. Phi psi’s operation did not cause his death- they were not having any less safety measures than any other frat at the time- they were just the unlucky ones that the criminal chose to engage with. Could have just as easily happened at a beta or sig chi party.
