gpa

by: idk

do frats actually check your gpa before giving a bid? I am a sophomore and engineering wrecked my gpa but its super close to 2.5. Is it something you can talk to the rush chair about or is it just a blanket rule?

Talk to the rush chair, but don't bring it up right away. If they like you they're more likely to work around the problem with you and maybe ghost rush you

ok! thank you! would you say smaller chapters looking to expand would be more open to this idea rather than bigger houses or is that something that would not play a role?

Honestly the onmy fraternities that I know that might turn you away are Delt, Beta, and Sig Ep because they're very grade oriented.

So guys would say go ahead and rush and if you're rejected it won't be for gpa reasons? Cause I really want to join a fraternity but don't want to waste my time either!! Sorry to be annoying!

The only fraternities that will give you a bid if your GPA is under a 2.5 is phi psi and TKE but honestly if your GPA is that low you should consider getting it up before you start pledging

to be completely honest, if you end of rushing and accept a bid somewhere, pledging will in all likelihood bring your gpa down even further (obviously only applies to fraternities that have a legitimate pledge process).

just something to think about before heading to rush week...
