-spring classes are bigger
-spring classes are mostly freshmen
-you do more with sorority pledges in the spring
-fall pledges generally have to do a little less to earn membership
-it can be easier to get a bid in the fall
-there's a definite stigma in some houses for guys that don't rush the first semester they can
