sororities doing fall informal recruitment
by: curiousI know it's kinda of early to tell but will many sororities do informal recruitment this fall? Any ideas which sororities will mostly likely be participating?

In theory, up to half of the sororities will do informal. But it's usually less because there's some sororities at exactly total and others choose not to do informal if they only have a spot or two. Houses that need 5 or less girls tend to do closed events, so the PNMs that attend are generally friends of current members. If they have more spots, they'll do open events that they advertise.
Some sororities often do informal, but keep in mind it doesn't always mean that only lower houses do informal. Being under total has to do with how many seniors graduate and how many members drop during the summer. For example, last year, Pi Phi did informal (or at least was under total) and AOPi did not do informal.
Sororities that often do informal are AXO, AEPhi, AGD, AOPi, AXiD, DZ, GPhi, and occasionally Tri Delta. I would expect ZTA to be doing informal as well this year. But really it will depend on what total was and how each chapter's numbers are by August.
Good luck to all who choose to rush! Just remember, there are not a lot of spots for informal, so keep your options open. But it's a lot more casual and a lot more fun than formal tbh.

literally no one will know until school starts. dont waste your time worrying about it until you actually have a list of houses that will have open houses (only probably 3ish). you could always email the recruitment chairs about COB once school starts saying you're interested, but they probably will only take girls they know like the poster above said.

It varies among all the different houses. They will not know until they go over their numbers, etc. I think the best way to find out is the Involvement Fair and talking to some of the members. Informal is competitive, but I think it is better than formal if you know a lot of members from a current sorority and can see yourself being a part of the group.

I think most of the sororities graduated about that many. Mine had a similar number
