i have questions
by: Transfer
I am considering transferring here and rushing as a junior. Will my age have any effect on my ability to receive a bid? Also, how do the UNT sororities feel about rec letters? Are they pretty much a requirement like they are at A&M, Austin, Tech, etc?
Are they helpful but not needed? Are they useless?

I would say helpful but not needed. Which is another reason why we have such a great greek system. Recs are a pain to get and in the end, really have nothing to do with why a house chooses you. When you sign up for recruitment, you are telling us all of your pertinent information. Make sure that your social media is cleaned up is the main thing.

I personally know a lot of girls who joined chapters their junior year (I even know of at least one who rushed as a senior and went ADPi) so please don’t stress over your age if you want to rush. A few houses might cut you for it but at least some, and maybe even most, will definitely will not care. As for rec letters, nobody at UNT seems to care too much about them, so they’re not required at all, but I feel like they certainly don’t hurt to have.
