I feel bad for the greeks here. It seems like every year a greek gets banned for something. The people in the greeks here are great. They arent very selective because whether it's to looks, smarts, or status, just being average at this place makes you above average, so just be normal and you can make it into most greeks. The problem is that the campus has half of the greeks on a tight leash, and the other half seem to be able to get away with anything. The student population seems pretty disinterested in greek life overall, which is sad because the connections you make can be very valuable in getting jobs, making friends, and creating memories. The greeks exist, just join the one that's right for you.

The Greek Life at UNT is not a true Greek Life. It's a glorified student leader organization for those overly involved student leader types. You will get a bid if you rush although it may not be the chapter you wanted. There are hardly ever any parties or social events, but it's a perfect resume builder to add to the ambitious college student's collection of organizations on campus.

Go greek. The most promising student leaders are also Greek students on campus! Go Greek, make connections, receive better job opportunities. Invest in your future, no matter the house.

Greek life here isn’t that phenomenal. It’s unique in a way because since it’s so small compared to most Greek life elsewhere, it’s kinda like its own little community.

Not the best Greek life, by no means a Greek school. But they have their moments. MGC and NPHC need to step up though. They don’t even try in homecoming or Greek week.

Amazing group of people in Greek life. Honestly you can find a place in a frat/sorority no matter what. There is such a diverise group of chapters. Love this school. It’s big enough where it’s fun and competitive. But small enough where you know a good chunk of the people. Makes it feel very communal.

If you come to this school expecting a normal greek life experience, then your expectations will be very let down. Only 7% of students here are involved in greek life and that number doesn't seem to be getting any bigger. The administration absolutely hates greek life and does everything in their power to screw over greek life every chance they get. People will try to tell you there are tiers here but if we are being honest we all suck compared to frats at a big 12 school. If you join you'll have a decent time and a fun greek experience, but if you are actively coming here to join greek life i'd say look at a different school.

Only posting this because I’m so tired of all the UNT greek life hate online! UNT greek life is a super fun, small, tight knit community that is VERY accepting despite what others might say. Everyone I know in Greek Life loves it here, and after 4 years in my sorority I have been to countless parties, events, mixers, date parties, tailgates, philanthropy events, formals, and more. We really do support each other and have a lot of fun every semester. I can’t speak for every organization but choose one that is genuine, go to events, and you will succeed. UNT Greek life is not at all similar to Greek life at larger universities and is really laid back and not competitive but still offers a traditional college experience. Don’t listen to bitter people and just give it a shot! You will meet great people.
