Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 5.0 I actually liked these women a lot. I don’t know why everyone hates them so much but I had a few that could always make me smile on the way to lecture

Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 4.7 Okay so I actually signed up for recruitment my freshmen year and I had gotten a bid from Dphie. I was happy, but I dropped because I realized I simply was not happy studying in the city anymore. I’m not from new york and i’m literally from the other side of the country, so I chose to transfer to another uni closer to home...ironically though, I still ended up at Dphie! Dphie gets so much hate sometimes and I really don’t get why. You could try to jack that im biased but at the same time, we all know what I’m talking about. No one can come on here and bash this org without knowing an actual sister on a deeper level:..oh and yeah, when recruitment classes are so big, of course conversations are gonna sound repetitive or vague. PNMs forget that we are just as excited, as tired and as drained as them on these days! It’s kinda weird that WOC and plus size individuals are saying they felt uncomfortable. I’m filipina and dominican, and a size 24...everyone needs to hop off here with the hate. In celebration of starting my OWN chapter’s recruitment in a few days, I came back on here to provide pnm’s with my “memory lane”. Take if for what it’s worth. Like some universities might get low ratings, but it’s how you make your moments count and the people you meet that can make it so much better. We are all grown. Stop acting like toxic children! Love a sister from the Delta Eta chapter! 💜💛

Maybe part of it is because nyu let 600 people sign up for recruitment rather than 300. The active members that interviewed me were not very nice and inclusive. Interrupted when PNMs were talking and seemed like they didn't want to be there at all. Facilitated very superficial conversations. I have no idea how they select PNMs but so far I didn't get to see a lot of their personalities. Top tier bc dphie is bc its founded here but it's not going to be for long.

I agree lol. they're only top tier because they were founded at nyu. I was doing research on all the sororities before recruitment started and nationally dphie is not good at all.

Your experience is totally valid but I would steer away from judging an entire org based on a few girls.

As a plus size POC going out for recruitment i felt not only unwelcomed, but unbelievably unwanted and unrespected. I was not met with one genuine nice interaction during my time in dphies events and i spoke to many women. There’s a difference between an org “not being for you” and an org that “actively doesn’t want to be for you”. for those saying don’t judge an org based on a few girls, how about you do something on your end instead of invalidating other women’s experiences. Instead of getting defensive, maybe sit down and evaluate why those interactions are continuing to happen.

I agree with @pnm. I’m not a POC, but I am what many would consider “big” or “chubby”. When I spoke with the women in Dphie, I noticed a difference in how they spoke to me versus other pnms who were skinnier. Even just looking at the women in Dphie, it’s obvious that they favor that body type. Nothing wrong with being skinny, all bodies are beautiful, but it is upsetting to feel like I’m not small enough for them and therefore am not their “type”. They need to work on size-inclusivity for sure

If you go to any other school dphie is dead bottom or lower mid-tier and for good reason. They have poor alumni relations, the girls are fake and rude, and they don't really care about anything other than partying and their instagram feed. Very sad watching so many people want to join such a artificial group of girls.
