greek life is very laid back which I think creates a more genuine experience. You can rush and find your life long friends because wealth, connections, and attractiveness aren't a factor here. The only complaint from me is that the houses aren't very pretty and I think that could sway a lot of new members. Also incase anyone is worried (at least in the sororities) there is an absolutely no hazing policy that they take VERY seriously. The sorority sisters will literally drive and pick you up if you ever feel threatened or like you are being hazed. The other thing I would say is that the party scene can be very limited at CSU compared to a bigger party school like CU, and if you are a boy and want a chance at any sort of social life I recommend rushing a frat.

Greek life at CSU is a literal joke. Girls, if you want a real sorority experience, don’t go to CSU. Guys, if you want a better social scene that a frat can offer, stay far away from CSU. You can tell the sororities will take any below average girl and the parties are small with guys that aren’t willing to socialize

The other comments are true that Greek life at CSU is very different from other schools. Greek life is super laid back compared to other schools, which I personally think is a great thing. I mean there is a reason why I would never join a sorority at CU...

Greek life is very small here compared to other universities. Sororities aren’t that selective here and frats throw below average parties. CSU has things going for it but I wouldn’t list Greek life as one of them

Being a transfer from the University of Colorado Boulder I got to see the difference between greek life at both schools. Colorado State's greek life far exceeds that of CU.

Historically, Greek life at CSU hasn't played a big role at the school. However, I have noticed that within the last 2 years it has picked up dramatically. CSU school restrictions are still tight, but thankfully are becoming more and more lenient. Greek life parties are still always held out of the actual fraternity houses and are usually held at a member's house. But slowly and surely its beginning to grow. If you're looking for huge Greek life at a college I wouldn't go here or anywhere else in Colorado. If that what you truly desire then the South or a Big 10 school is the place to go. Those college cultures are centered around Greek life because there isn't much to do outside of the college. In Colorado, many students take to other recreational activities such as the mountains and outdoors in general. This dilutes the appeal for Greek life and I think puts an invisible ceiling on how big Greek life percentages can grow in Colorado schools.

greek life here is smaller than other schools, but they still know how to do it. parties are always packed, but the reason greek life is smaller here is bc csu is very strict w it
