how tough to get a bid at a top frat?

How hard is it to get a bid at a top fraternity, am I screwed if I don’t have connections? Also how many bids do they even give out usually

Join for the guys not for the tiers. You may be in a top tier frat and hate it because you don't really like any of the guys.
