There is no greek row so getting to parties is definitely a walk or an uber away! Getting into frat parties for guys is impossible unless it is wow week! For girls most of the time you can just walk in but some frat parties require a wristband or being on the list(easier to do if you are in a sorority). Frat parties have a terrible ratio of like 10 girls to 1 guy and they run out of alcohol quickly! Greek life raises a lot of money for their philanthropies which is awesome and fun! Definitely consider rushing if you are at all interested because it is a great part of student life at cal poly!

last rush for sororities was pretty dicey with huge incoming freshmen class. a lot of parties revolve around with frats which is a pain. frat parties arent even that fun cause they run out of booze and there 5 girls to every frat guy since they dont let in non brothers. i have been to several parties where its almost all girls. sororities and frats do raise alot of money for their philanthropies tho. also pretty unfortunate that there isnt a greek row and houses are scattered all over the place.

Greek Life is just ok and more like high school cliques. Other schools have stronger Greek presents and more involvement.

Tired to get into greek life so this is a different perspective from outside experience. Sororities are very anti transfers or older people in general. There social life does not look impressive, and I'd know I went to school in sb for some years. They kinda act as those they are the best thing cal poly has to offer, but its not. Majority of them I have encountered are fake, but I have some friends in some of the houses that are kind and sweet. Overall they pretty much live up to those movie stereotypes which is very sad..wish they did informal recruitment over formal. Sisterhood should be about you as a person, not an image.

It's definitely backwards from a lot of other colleges. There aren't the giant frat houses that everyone pictures and you practically can't get into a party as a guy unless it's WOW week. To top that off, there's no "main" area where all of Greek life is since everyone has satellite houses scattered off of Foothill and Hathaway. Besides that, Greek Life is definitely extremely noticeable at Cal Poly whether it's at events or just walking around campus.
